It cover the smell of booze off your breathe. Look how little that guy is he aint eating handfuls of peanut butter after going to the gym, that's just absurd. Nice story to cover it up., And this is the car that he's daily-ing to the gym constantly? naaah

  • Your conclusion is all nice and well, but it doesn't work like that in Australia unfortunately... Most of the driving imfringement policies here have a fund-raising focus, under the pretentious shroud of concern for safety, and there's absolutely no room for discretion.

  • I led a trooper down the highway for many miles and when I saw his lights I pulled over promptly. He said, and I quote,:" what the hell you got in this thing?" I chatted with him for some time in his cruiser and in the end he said, "cause you were so polite by flashing the cars you passed and not pushing anyone, I'm going to let you off for 20 over even though you were blowing past 100 mph. My cruiser just couldn't stay near you". That man let me keep my liscence although I probably hit near 150 mph between traffic. Goes to show you there are some really decent cops out there. treat them with respect!

    • @Richard Tipton I have a similar story lol. I was going 110 in a 55. Pulled over immediately. When he asked why I was going so fast I said there wasn't a good reason to go that fast and making an excuse would be an insult. He knocked it down so I didn't lose my license. Haven't gotten a ticket since, that was 8 years ago.

      glowsticklesglowstickles19 tuntia sitten
    • @glowstickles hell yeah! Only ticket I got was doing 94 in a 55 but I pulled over right when he flipped his lights on (sitting in median with lights off) and I had a "Cowboys from hell" Decal on my rear glass of my Acura RSX and the cop was a metal head and asked why I was speeding and I told him I was listening to Lamb of God, so he put me at 64 in a 55 instead of impounding my car and taking me to jail and instead told me to slow down etc. $131 for doing 39 MPH over the speed limit aint a bad deal so I took it 😁

      Richard TiptonRichard Tipton20 tuntia sitten
    • yeah. be honest. be straightforward. I got pulled over for lighting up the tires infront of a cop by accident and instead of getting a ticket I popped the hood for him. lol

  • Amen! I'll tell you in all the traffic violations I've been involved in which isn't many but when you commute to work as far as I do it's bound to happen. I am always respectful and try to be as light and easygoing as I can. Like you said these officers have no idea who they're dealing with or if that person is going to be the last person that they deal with on this Earth. I think it's very important that we respect our police officers as they have extremely tough job to do. I know that things don't always go the best when they're involved but like my mother said when I told her I wanted to be a police officer " why would you want to deal with people on their worst days ". If we can respect the police officers a little more and respect each other a little more everyday our country would be in much better place.

  • I actually had a cop giving me shit for driving too slow around 3:00 in the morning. He said do you know how suspicious this looks you driving by all these businesses at this time of the morning at this speed? I said I'm not violating any laws there's nobody here but you and I and all I'm doing is reminiscing about the past as I drive by places that I used to walk by when I was a kid. Then he proceeds to follow me around all night. I swear you act like he was a jilted lover.

  • I had one happen a few weeks ago like this. I was coming home from my girlfriends house through my local town doing 60 in a 45. It was 12 on a school night and i was going to be home late. Before I knew it boom there it was blue lights in my rearview. This was my first time ever being pulled over and me being a broke senior in high school thought how am I gonna pay this citation and how many points is this gonna take off my perfect driving record. Officer walks up and says, "son do you know how fast you were going." I said," I was going 60 in a 45 sir." I didnt even realize that I just fully admitted guilt because he didn't even clock me, but I explained my reasoning behind the speeding and he said," when i was in school and I went to my girlfriends house I used to always be late home and i would try to make up for it by speeding, but much like you I found myself on the side of the road with blue lights in my rearview, since you were honest with me and showed respect much like I did when i was in your shoes im letting you go with a verbal warning and hopefully a lesson on how to leave your girls house on time." And a lesson he taught I now leave well ahead of time and I have stopped speeding (for the most part 😉). Well, except on open well lit highway where I let the horses run free.

  • I have a miata with a big wang, its widebody, all black and just obnoxious overall. So one night I was with some buddies at some local spot taking pictures and as we are leaving a cop pulls behind me and lights me up. I'm like oh great I'm going to get an exhaust ticket or a no front license plate ticket. So the officer walks up to my door and ask what i was doing down at the spot and I told him, taking pictures with some friends, he then proceeds to claim I was down there street racing. I explained that yes my car looks like a race car but it has about 90hp. He takes my information and goes back to his car. Within about 5 mins there's 4 cop cars and 6 cops there, all for my little miata. So as all of these cops are discussing the situation one of them walks up to my car and asks what year is my miata. I told him its a 1990 and we just start talking about my car and cars in general. He was a car guy himself. After talking with him he then proceeds to explain to me that there was claims I was doing burnouts and street racing and him being a car guy understood that my pretty much stock 1.6 can't really do a burnout with r888's. Also there's no way I would be street racing anyone but maybe bicyclist. The first officer on scene came back up to my car and handed me a ticket for street racing, exhibition of speed, I was beyond shocked and so was the officer I was talking to about cars. So my court date comes and I go down to the court house expecting to plea not guilty and hopefully just have to do like community service at most. I hand my ticket to the lady at the court and she's like there's no record of this ticket, at this point I'm like what the hell is going on he wrote me the ticket. Did he forget to turn it in? Or was it turned in late and hasn't been processed? She gives me a paper saying i showed up so if there's warrant I have proof I was there, etc. I'm thinking after I received the ticket the officer that was knowledgeable about cars talked to everyone else on scene and ended up ripping up the ticket. Who knows, whatever happened I'm one lucky son of a bitch and have to be the first person on earth to get an exhibition of speed ticket in a 1.6 miata LOL

  • Honesty, humility works all the time, that's been my standard for dealing with cops since I started driving. Like a year ago, officer had me dead to rights, I was going 42 in a 35, 11pm, windy 2 lane back-road exhaust valves open, factory burble tune rattling away (2019 camaro ss 1LE.) I pulled over pre-emptively, I was totally apologetic, I gave him my license and (expired!) insurance card, he accused me of having modified exhaust - I denied, offered to pull up a youtube video proving this was factory valved/burbly/popping exhaust, he told me about his Mini, and how it would need tuning to have popping/burbling, then let me off scot free!

  • with canada having legalized weed, and the amount of times i've been pulled over after smoking should easily land me in jail or at least revoked license. every time i get pulled over i just chat with the officer, they ask if i had anything to drink or smoke i tell them "yes sir i smoked a bowl or two about 30 minutes ago." they always look at me, hand my info back and say "okay Dustin, just get home and stay there. you look like a good kid dont let me catch you again."

  • Happened to me once in New York. Getting on from a rest stop in my 7 series and saw open road ahead and a bunch of traffic behind. Punched it to ensure I was out before the traffic caught up. My old 7 (E38) is not quick but it's fast. I kinda let my foot in it a bit longer than I should and when I crested the hill, I saw a state trooper under a bridge. Glanced down, I was just over 100. I pulled over immediately (well, as immediate as one can given the need to slow two tons from triple digit speed lol). I was on the side of the road by the time the trooper had pulled out and hit his lights. He pulls up and does the usual license/reg/ins/do you know how fast you were going spiel. I told him why I was flying and apologized. Like the guy in the video said, I kept polite and as charismatic as I could manage. He goes back to his car, I assume running my tags and ensuring no warrants or anything. Comes back to me a few minutes later, hands me the paperwork and said he appreciates that I didn't make him chase me down and to just keep an eye on my speed next time. He let me walk on a 102 radar read :) I was shocked, I thought I (rather, my wallet) was gonna have to "grab my ankles" with that ticket hehe.

Make all the windows go down in the car cut on my dome light and just put your hands out the window so they feel safe approaching. They pulled me over for the 5 percent tints. After I pulled over after doing that. They appreciated what I had done to make myself visible and it showed respect. I got a warning for the tints and let go.

  • This is a very interesting story and you are VERY lucky that you got out of that situation unscathed and unticketed. However, I can’t help but think that if you were black, this would’ve gone down very differently. Especially when you went to reach into your glove box for your registration. As a black person, we’re taught that whenever we are pulled over by police to reduce the risk of getting shot, that we are to keep our hands on the wheel with our documents already in hand. And I have seen many situations, including with my friends, that they were courteous and compliant with the officer, and they still got profiled and even roughed up by the cop. And I own a Miata as well. But I’m not gonna drive it topless in the rain. But hey, to each their own. Just be careful and do anything else to draw unwanted attention by cops.
