  • Mistakes happen, mom and pop or big box. I can honestly say Id rather the mom and pop as they usually hold themselves to a higher standard. I've worked at BB, CC, 2 large chains, and a mom and pop over 23yrs as a professional certified installer and even I caught the J1850 data wire when I did my own install due to the tape letting go as I put the door back on. Accidents happen. It also comes down to caring about your job and experience as well. Theres bad doctors, bad mechanics, bad delivery drivers, etc

    forklift385forklift38519 päivää sitten
  • This is a BS story given by the shop that did the install. No car will deploy all front airbags if you short out anything in a door. Worst case scenario, it will blow the door airbag, if it even has one. Even if you supply battery voltage through that screw into the airbag lines, that will do nothing to the rest of the airbags. The airbag module is under the center console and drives each airbag separately through their own wires. No chance to backfeed any current from one line to the others. If the screw went through the door crash sensor and fed 12V to the airbag control module, it will still do nothing to deploy airbags. If the car was running and moving with 20 MPH and up during that "screw event", that's possible, but I doubt it is the case.

  • This video brings stupid to a new level. 1. The guy who didn't know the proper procedure to start his 360 wasn't educated by the dealer. 2. Do you think that because you own a Ferrari you shouldn't be allowed to put an extreme sound system in it? You must, because not only will a dealership not do that ,if they tried they would screw it up because they only do certain things. Most exotic car dealership techs Are narrowly trained to only do things the factory expects to be done done in the factory approved way. That means no European exhaust, No trick body work. No updating or backdating between models. You don't know what your talking about. And not putting you down because you are a detailer but your a detailer you have no idea what your talking about.

    jerrytobin88jerrytobin8819 päivää sitten
  • You're a detailer. Not a Ferrari Tech. You're a detailer that works at a Ferrari dealership. No wonder you are shilling for the dealership and putting down Independent shops. People from dealerships contact independent shops when they can't figure out a problem that isn't on the dealership menu of things they fix.

    jerrytobin88jerrytobin8819 päivää sitten
  • Shouldn’t you vet these stories before you put them on your channel? There’s no four cylinder/half engine immobilizer on a 360! The remote is integrated into the key but it works EXACTLY like a 355/456/550 in that you have to disable the alarm before starting or it doesn’t start at all, just cranks. I’ve been in at LEAST 15 of them and probably more, and a couple dozen Ferraris of that era (I work at a high volume exotic car dealer) and have never, ever experienced anything like what he’s describing. And I’ve also seen custom stereos in Ferraris from a 512BBi to a 430 scud and everything in just have to not be an idiot when you do it.

  • I worked for a Ferrari, Aston Martin, Jaguar, range rover, Lotus dealership from 1988-1997. My job for the dealership was installing aftermarket sound systems, alarms, cell phone, radar detector, and TeleTrac. Back than Ferraris did not come with a sound system. Cell phones started out the size of a small briefcase. To this day it was one of my favorite places to have worked.

    James HarveyJames Harvey25 päivää sitten
  • That was not the fault of the aftermarket stereo though. A rule when working on anything is know where your screws are going. Especially with a car like that from that era. There is no way to confirm where any wire factory harnesses are ran unless you physically check for it first. But as far as electronics they don't know or care if it is in a Yugo or a Bugatti. Helps if the tech doing the work follows the rules. People should be able to upgrade their tunes in anything and not deploy airbags or break windows but a mess up like that can happen in any make vehicle.

It became clearly obvious when we were racing a dodge neon srt4 weaving through Nashville traffic on i40.
