  • I bought one in 2009 for $400bucks , towed home, clean all the rat turds 😂 had the engine running few days later, need it lots of body work. But it was me and my son's project. Unfortunately things didn't went out way and had to give the car away 😭 I still remember seeing my boy cry asking me where they taking my car. He was 6 years old back then I hope I can make up to him one day 😞

  • This is the nine hundred time I heard some one go for the great deal on some part that does not fit there car project. A smaller engine would have been better and lighter because they never got to use that 1000 hp. And they had to kill them selves to make it work.

  • We had a Corona on base in Japan in the early 70's.. identical to this one.. my dad tried to purchase it and ship it home to Virginia after his ToD.. the car was US govt property ..he was pissed.

  • What was taking 100s of hours of work to finish? I dont understand that? race cars are made to build simple and like more detail of what took hundreds hours of labor when the car is pretty well finished?

  • Amazing story teller 💯. There might be an economic turmoil but there's no doubt this is still the best time to invest, its time we take full control of our financial independence/freedom. Wealthy people don't make other wealthy people rich, they give wealthy people ideas so that the poor can make them rich. The average "Joe" can be the next millionaire just off trading, learning the markets and its psychology(The hardest thing in trading) with the right mentor but you got to start somewhere. I'm a high six figure earner with just a HS diploma! Get @ me in the comment section if you looking to earn and learn the pros and cons of the financial markets 💻📈💵.

  • Lemons reminds me of the Aussie Redex Rally...full of old cars usually built to a theme, and cheating isn't just permitted, it's encouraged - so long as you don't mind paying a "fine" commensurate to the offense. I've come across two 1968 Peugeots with turbo engines, and even heard of someone bribing the judges to "buy" and the trophy. All moneys goes to charity, so it's all in fun, even if the actual racing (generally on dirt tracks across various parts of Australia's outback) can get a bit on the serious side. PS: My bro had one of these Coronas as his first car - 4 speed floor shift and the 12R 1600cc single carb engine. Thrashed that thing without mercy and it never broke down. Great days. :-)

  • Jus as a bit of spite, I proved several asshats wrong bout the 300 inline 6. Simply by using a cheaply modified one running on pure moonshine to outrun 2jz cars and overpriced modified corvettes. An the engine was in a truly wrong vehicle. It was in a 1984 Chevrolet S10 long wheel base pickup. It had no bed, one door, ratchet straps far a hood latch, and a 4:88 Dana 60 rear axle I ripped out from under a 78 ramcharger. I built the thing fer $780. Got the S10 fer free as a parts only vehicle, no title, no bos. When a rinky dinky beater ford f100 engine can out run "drift cars" & "super cars" that sell far damn near 100 grand sumtimes more. Then ya know anything can be done if you actually put forth the effort to make such possible. Even the impossible is far from such.

  • A '68 Corona was my second new car...and that two-speed transmission drove me crazy. Drive for an hour around 90 mph, then get into city limits and slow down, and you suddenly end up sitting there going absolutely nowhere for a couple of minutes until it cooled down. Wasn't a bad city car, and for it's time was quite a nice ride. Brings back memories......

  • John Ficarra's story telling is like the gravitational pull for car enthusiasts who love a wholesome feel good story🙂. In his stories , he almost always blends in some technical know how, a sprinkle of history ,a dash of drama, and a dose of action. He's never going too heavy or too light with his story telling, just right 👌🏿.
